month: May 2009

I’ve been swamped with life and business and loving it all, but a bit overwhelmed to say the least.  I’m editing as much as possible and I still have thousands of images to edit, for real. So, needless-to-say my blog is taking a hit.  In effort to keep it somewhat current here’s a very sneak peak from a recent bridal shoot that I shot with Jim Rode.  I was honored when Jim asked me to shoot this bridal session with him.

This bride and her entourage was great!  I’m excited to shoot their wedding in July!

Memorial Day!  A holiday for me that I’ve never understood the happy as part of the greeting, not even while I was serving in the Air Force. I mean for real, what’s so happy about a memorial?  In my life, today is not a day that is festive or a day that I allow to pass by without deep gratitude and remembrance.  I spend the day humbly with my family thinking about all the men and woman that have served in our armed forces and gave their lives for our freedom.

I’m honored to have spent the eve of Memorial Day with Sgt Johnson and his family.  Photographing their family and unique love was a great way to celebrate this memorial weekend.  It was even sweeter to hear several passer-byer’s express their gratitude to Sgt Johnson for his service to our country, while we roamed the streets of Deep Ellum capturing all the patriotic walls in the background.

I share with you now a few photo’s that lend to a Memorial Day Remembrance.

Thank you Johnson Family for your daily sacrifices and your willingness to protect our nation!  Much love and respect to all military members and their families!

Saturday night I spent a lovely evening with Brandee and Ken capturing their sweet love. Here a few that caught my eye so far.

kids. bed. air. laughter.

I love the simple things in life, but I love it even more when my kiddo’s do. Just before nap time today my kids made my day with their beautiful expressions of love and laughter. Their laughter fills my heart with more joy than I can express and helps me to remember to slow down and enjoy their youth.

Love, love, love!  I love, we love, capturing others in love.  The type of love that you dream of from childhood.  Jamie and Josh have found that love.  Their fresh playful love is carefree, trusting, and charismatic.

Andre and I are excited to hang our with Jamie and Josh again for their wedding in August.  If their engagement shoot is any indication of what their wedding will be like then we are all in for a wonderful time with truly refreshing emotions and love in the air.
